How We Got Started

TLC Spice Blends was born in 2021, but the journey began in 2009 when I was diagnosed with gout—a painful condition caused by a buildup of uric acid in the body, leading to inflammation and sharp crystal formations in the joints. Managing gout required a significant lifestyle change: adopting a healthier diet, avoiding foods that trigger uric acid buildup, and incorporating regular exercise.

In 2020, despite these efforts, I faced recurring gout attacks. Frustrated but determined, I began researching natural ways to reduce inflammation. That’s when I discovered the incredible anti-inflammatory properties of herbs and spices like ginger, turmeric, garlic, black pepper, cardamom, rosemary, and cinnamon. Inspired by these natural remedies, I began creating my own seasoning blends focused on combating inflammation.

Since then, TLC Spice Blends has become my everyday cooking essential—and I’m proud to share that it has been over four years since my last gout attack. These blends are not just seasonings; they’re a testament to how food can heal and nourish the body naturally.

Beyond the kitchen, I am a proud mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. I have a passion for seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine and love sourcing ingredients from local establishments in my community. Sustainability and giving back are at the heart of everything I do, and with TLC Spice Blends, I aim to create products that reflect these values while helping others live healthier, more flavorful lives.
